Theatres - comparing and contrasting DUE Mon., Mar. 10, 2008
You have briefly studied Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Think about what you have learned - what it looks like, the stage, the lighting, the shape of the building, the people who attend the theatre, etc. How is the design of the Globe Theatre different from or similar to the design of theatres today?

I think the Globe Theater are different from indoor theater.Because indoor have light and roof and restroom.Globe theater have none restroom and roof and it's dirt because of mud! Indoor Theater have no dirt just clean and smell good. But both have a seat rows. I think indoor are better than Globe theater because Globe is very dirt and no restroom at all. But Globe is beautiful theater and indoor too! So anyone want to discuss about to visit the fake Globe or real because Globe was burned down! And rebuild the new Globe.
Im agree with eagles#81. Globe Theater different building and not same other building. it not have a protect for sun. Wow it is crazy. Some poor people on the grondling that dirty mud because they cant owe for money that Globe Theater. They sit on the floor at mud and it not have a chair nothing! So poor people smell bad and awful. They dont care about awful smell. I think they like it abd watch for theater.
Yea I'm agree with Eagles#81 and Bearsboy about Globe Theather that many wealth people sit on roof that have a protect from the rain, and poor people that can't afford then they have to sit on bottom "Hell" seats that doesn't have a protect from the rain and it was smell awful that people sit together. I think that was wrong because Wealth and Poor should even sit and why theather mean to people and it should be even with people.
The Globe Theater are very different than today theater because the Globe Theater had outside for play. The Globe Theater use their level floor. Top of the Globe Theater mean is only rich people can watch for top. But many people who had very poor. They can watch, but they must watch play by base as hell because very dirty, too full of people, and alot sick/disease. Today, most theater have indoor, more clean, and good techolongy because they pay it...
Actually, I m argee with eagles#81.. Globe Theater is bigg differece compare to Boradway in New York.. There have restroom, inside, indoor. and Globe Theater dont have indoor and just outside, dont have restroom.. I really feel bad for poor people patinet stand to watch on perform in Globe theater.Because there is more dirt and mud.. Poor people cant patient in stand bec of sun make them sweat and smell stink! I think Rich and poor people share and fair enough in Globe therater..
I’m agree with eagles#81. I notice that globe theater was start building about 16th century and make a new building for show. They don’t have a roof because the sun can to globe theater and who people can see who is show on stage. Now We had a roof and electric light in globe theater plus ac to keep cool in globe theater. Today many people who are rich and poor but they are fair to share the chair. I’m proud that we had new techelonal in globe theater but in the future its would be new design in globe theater but I don’t know.
I agree with eagles#81, bearsboy, fm3, husky, gigglyaddiction with tat about Global Theatre. Our Theater have indoor light more than that as color, lightscreen, fair to all chair as young in front to older in back. But Global Theatre more outdoor as sun in theatre and get too hot to suffer Yikes! and also suffer in rain to get wet and muddy Ugh! I feel bad for poor people to suffer in mud. But our theater is more indoor. Thank God! But if i was in that time, I will pay money for poor people to sit with rich people to be fair. Really that idea from Oueen Elizabeth I. She support lot of theatre, art , etc..
Oh well, I am agree with mostly kids. I'd like to add something. Difference between Globe theather and present theather is design. Globe theather is woodyand present theather, mostly of them is more likely stone and clay. Present theather have roof for all low class and high class. Globe theather have seperate for that.

Yes, The Globe Theater was different then moder theater in New York City. Long time ago, The globe theater had roufless, no artificial lighting and center no chairs for poor people. On 3 floor were courtyard for actors. Only men and boys for actors in The globe theater. U know why boys on stage? Because young boys whose voices had not changed play women’s roles. Who poor people have to paid for only one penny and rich people paid about & 0.02 to 0.05. Rich people sat in 1 to 2 level inside. Poor people stoond on center had mud and smell awful. So, no matter if rain and stay stoond outside to watch play on stage. And who actors have to voices too loud to people heard it from on stage. Moder is New York City in boradway. They had light, many chairs, can women/men/girls/boys for actors, inside on stage and who actors not need loud voices because have like radio. And if rich people paid many money like &60 to 70 then sat on front of stage. Other people can affot it for this then sat on last row.
I agree with mosty kids. Globe Theater open roof, and circle building. If poor people have to sit on the floor because cant afford. Only rich people can afford. If poor people have to accept sit on the floor and very dity floor. The poor people patient smell so bad but have to accept. That happen burn down then rebuilding same degsign and same backgroud. Today still there in globe theater and people can visit.
Past and Present, of course they changed. They are big different. In the past, there was no roof, no light, and no props. Present they have props with perform. Present, the perform are inside town, it is not outside as same as past. they are different design. Past, people were alway heard if they are not good and get the food throw at who play perform. Present, they people heard if they didnt good then they are keep mouth closed and they are complain tell to master about they are not good voice or else.

Most of you already said about different between past and present theater. So, I do not have to say more. Everyone have the point. =^)
My opinion, present design of theater was much better than before. Theater in past was made of wooden, which was unsafe. (That explain previous Globe Theater was burn down) Anyway, and roofless, do not have any backstage. The spectators were all around not just front. Present's design is much better. It have good structure, included backstage and spectators are only front and top, not all around.
World is changing, and world gotta changing. =^)

Maybe everyone right, I feeling bad for poor people just sit mud? Why only rich people can sit seat rows... but happen Globe theater was burned down, how itself burned down how? Maybe if rich people can use smoke then Globe was burned down??? Maybe I don't know happen itself burned down??? well made reduild the new Globe again.
Hey, actually to me, i agreed with everyone, they all have a good points with that. i am happy that they got a point what they were talking about, its more clearly to me, and so i assuming that and let me tell you what do i think compare that to new york theatres. In NYC, they actually have a great seats, restroom, foodstand, a great stage, and a carpet. there have alot people that who have bath everyday and it smells so good, so can you imaged that its compared to GLOBE THEATRES, there have not good things, chairs, mud, dirty, and nothing new like nyc, and people doesnt have no bath and they smell so bad and it was an awful things, i actually still feel bad for them eventhough they arent alive at all... so inside of me feel bad for them, so i think all people should be fair and even i like fair! but long time ago it wasnt fair at all, they like kick out of poor people and stay down on the dirty areas, and rich people could had a great places to stay and fancy and bragged all it to poor people...

I am agree everyone because its was very clear for me. but I feel bad for them because they have to stay outside with rain but most people have to stay with mud because they are poor. Lucky rich people can sit normal chair because they are rich but that is not fair. we are very lucky in the future we have nice stage inside in the building.

Globe very smart and good story but little weird. There no there on play.. Need one person talk what place look like.. long story.

From learning alittle bit about the Globe Theater few weeks ago, in my opinion it is complete different. With Globe Theater, there arent any roofs nor bathrooms for audience to use. While indoor has everything it needs; bathroom, roof, electricity for lights, and its CLEANER! Newer technologies comes in the indoor theater everyday, while outdoor has limit of things probably.
That is my opinion.
Since I got some knowledge about the ancient times what their theaters look like, what I see with my own eyes between the ancient and modern theaters I do see big changes.
Old times theatres doesn't have much technology like we do now, their roofing celing is half indoor, half outdoor, plus have some rules for the seating, like low class people gets to only stand not sit, while people who rich with money can afford to buy these seatings, they do have seperate rules. Also noice about the lighting, not much technology comes out from there.
Modern theatres are more cool now, because has a full roof, and has adjust temperature for the room it can be warm or cool depends on weather but most of all it makes you feel perfectly, relaxing and enjoy show, notice have more lighting, more device connections with music, vibration, lights. AS today we don't have rules for seating, "comes first(pay money), serves first" there's no specific seat saving for rich people, everyone is treated equally and no1 stands at the theaters now.
